The Automatic Identification System (AIS) is a marine traffic monitoring system and the GLOMEASY Marine AIS 4 Foot Antenna is made for it. The AIS system uses two dedicated VHF channels (161.975 and 162.025 MHz) to provide users with real-time traffic information in their immediate surroundings.
Versatile and Convenient
Glomex intends to make boat owners' lives easier by introducing the RA300AIS, a new universal, durable, high-performance, and quick-to-install AIS antenna. This new antenna is constructed of a fiberglass tube that is resistant to tension and is painted with anti-yellowing paint to protect the interior brass elements. The antenna is 4' long and has a 3dB gain. This antenna can be mounted on mastheads for the best potential range, or it can be mounted on power boats using several aftermarket mounts. The antenna is terminated with a specific FME connector and includes a 5/8"x24 threaded ferrule on the bottom that can be paired with alternative brackets and mounts for varied mounting choices.
Furthermore, the antenna can be equipped with Glomex high-quality, low-loss coaxial cable (RG-8X), which comes in a variety of lengths and is already pre-installed with a specific professional and compact FME connection at both ends. Because of the FME-UHF adapter and other available accessories, boat owners have a lot of flexibility in how they deploy the AIS system, and it's exceedingly straightforward and quick to set up.
