With a separate Channel 70 receiver, the Eclipse Series is an ITU-R M493-13 Class D class VHF that enables DSC calls to be received even while listening to conversations. In order to facilitate quick reaction, the DSC DISTRESS function when triggered transmits a digital MAYDAY with vessel identification, Latitude and Longitude, and time (with GPS linked). Individual, Urgency, Safety, Position Report, and Send calls are more options. The radio's many capabilities may be easily and smoothly navigated thanks to the high definition dot matrix display. A new, brighter backlight has been added for improved display contrast.
