The Iridium Extreme 9575 Antenna Power USB Adapter H3AA1501 allows you to use a USB connection to charge and power your Iridium 9575 satellite phone. You won't be able to connect your satellite phone to an external antenna and charge it without this adapter, which is required for its operation. It's always a good idea to keep a spare Iridium Extreme 9575 Antenna Power USB Adapter in your backpack in case of an emergency. You won't be able to charge your Iridium Extreme Satellite Phone unless you have this USB Antenna Power Adapter or the USB Power Adapter for the 9575.
External antennas, AC/DC chargers, and solar panel USB chargers can all be connected to your Iridium Extreme satellite phone with this H3AA1501 adapter. This adapter is included in the basic Iridium Extreme kit.
Do not use the H3AA1501 adapter to "Register" or "Place A Call" on your Iridium Extreme 9575 satellite phone. Unless you've got a separate external antenna hooked up. This adapter will not allow you to register your phone or make calls if you do not have an external antenna connected to your satellite phone.
This is one of two power adapters available for the Iridium Extreme satellite phone. The other adapter only has power and USB, it is the H3APU1501 Power & USB Adapter from Iridium.

IMPORTANT! This adapter is only needed if you intend to connect an external antenna to your Extreme Phone. When this adapter is plugged in, your phone's built-in antenna will be disabled for a short period of time.
