This helical antenna is exceptional for its straightforward construction and extremely low axial ratio—below 3 dB—which enhances circular polarization and provides outstanding performance across the board.

The problem of non-geosynchronous satellite connections, where typical antenna designs concentrate on extensive range and receive signals over wide arcs but have null spots immediately overhead or at other unfavorable positions, is easily solved by Big Medusa.
